To explain what Kundalini Yoga is, I am going to start by telling
you what it is not. Kundalini Yoga is not a religion. It is a 5,000 year old science that originated
in India. It was maintained as a secret oral tradition for thousands of years which protected
the techniques from abuse, but also created an unnecessary image of mystery.
Kundalini Yoga is the original and most powerful of the twenty-two schools
of yoga, all of which are beneficial. The Yoga Sutras or writings say that what you can
achieve in 12 years of Hatha Yoga, plus 6 years of Raj Yoga, plus 3 years of Mantra Yoga, plus
1 year of Laya Yoga can be accomplished in a single year of perfectly practiced Kundalini Yoga.
Kundalini Yoga was designed for the common householder with responsibilities.
You can add it to your daily routine and experience amazing results in just one class. Kundalini
Yoga can be practiced by anyone if it is done gradually and according to the instructions.
Our world is becoming increasingly overwhelming. Depression, seclusion, and ill health are on
the rise. We are constantly being bombarded with too much information and the pace of change
is out of control, our body’s nervous systems become stressed and we feel exhausted and
lifeless. The science of Kundalini Yoga allows us to strengthen our nervous system and tap into
the Kundalini energy or life force within us. The inner science of the mind is the tool that
will enable us to cope with the pressure of these changes. It is the mind that interprets our
outer and inner worlds and it is the mind we must train to guide us through the flow of change.
We use Pranayama (breathing techniques), Asana (body postures), Mudra (hand positions), and
Mantras (sound currents) to achieve results.
As a beginning student you should go at a pace that suits your flexibility
and endurance. Try to take one to three classes a week and one workshop a month to establish
a firm foundation for an effective program that fits your needs, goals, capacity and lifestyle.
There are different classes to meet your needs.
Class Descriptions:
Kundalini Yoga In
adult classes we use movement, sound current, breath and meditation to relax and heal your mind
and body, allowing the spirit to flow freely. From your very first class, you will see improvement.
You can achieve relief from back pain, stress, addiction, depression and insomnia, as well as
weight control. You work at your own pace. Everyone can do it!
Prenatal Yoga Prenatal Yoga is a unique environment
for moms to slow down and nurture themselves through breath and meditation. This class uses
safe, simple and effective exercises designed to strengthen and relax your changing body. It
provides an opportunity to interact with like-minded moms while preparing for a conscious childbirth.
Mommy, Daddy and Me Yoga Bring your children (up
to 3 years old) to exercise, relax, dance and rejoice together! Kundalini Yoga is an excellent
way for a mother to get back into shape quickly, and dads to stay in shape - and to meet other
new parents. As your children stay right by your side, you will move, breathe dance, stretch
and strengthen. The children will then join you for their turn with movement, coordinated with
songs, dancing and brain development exercises. This time together is so much fun, and creates
a great sense of community with other families. Our little ones are our future. These classes
provide an opportunity for all to come together in an atmosphere that is joyful, setting the
foundation for bright minds.
Children’s Yoga Children's Yoga is a fun,
creative way to stimulate your child's spirit and set your child for a lifetime of good health,
radiance and happiness! We use yoga, dance and song to create a program that is a safe and nurturing.
Children have fun interacting with other kids in an environment that allows them to expand,
explore and express their unique talents.
Wear loose clothing, preferably cotton or other natural fibers and bring an exercise mat. Drink
plenty of water before and after class. Keep Up and Sat Nam (True Light)
