Jennifer Kelly, CPT, KRI Instructor, Postpartum Doula - I started
my journey towards health and alternative healing in 1998 when I became pregnant with my son.
I chose to have a homebirth not knowing where it would lead me. Thankfully, it has lead me to
work with amazing people and share the information I have learned to facilitate healing and
transformation.
I was introduced to yoga during my pregnancy by Gurmuk Khalsa at Goldenbridge Yoga. I am a student
of prenatal, post natal, mommy and me, women’s yoga and regular Kundalini yoga. I started
informally studying health, nutrition, homeopathy and essential oils. It then became obvious
to me that this was my true path in life. This led me to a search for formal training. I obtained
a Personal Training Certification, it was great information, but it wasn’t enough. I felt
like something was missing. I studied nutrition and therapeutic grade essential oils. I received
a CARE certification in Raindrop and Vita flex Techniques with therapeutic grade essential oils.
I felt like I was getting closer. I was starting to see amazing results for people. It wasn’t
until I finished my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training that I felt I had finally found the right
combination of body, mind, & spirit tools to really make a difference for my clients.
My spiritual name as given by Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, is Lakhmi Chand Kaur which
means princess who is blessed with wealth and moon energy. Moon being the feminine energy, I
have always had a passion for supporting and healing women and children. My theory is if you
start in utero and teach children how to care for themselves at an early age we can avoid many
of today’s health problems. This theory inspired me to become a postpartum doula, so I
could support new families and help them with their new journey. Men don’t be discouraged,
I love working with you too. It is important for our dad’s and dad’s-to-be to become
knowledgeable about health as well.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Kundalini Yoga Instructor trained in the Khalsa Way, and
have been teaching and training in the Los Angeles area for the last three years. The Khalsa
Way emphasizes healthy birthing and child rearing using the ancient principals of Kundalini
Yoga and combines well with my Postpartum Doula work. I am currently studying to receive my
nutritionist and master herbalist certifications and I am certified in the use of therapeutic
grade essential oils. I have one birth child and have been a foster parent for the last 4 years.
